What are Meta catalog ads?
Meta catalog ads use a product catalog to show relevant items on Facebook and Instagram. You may know them as dynamic product ads or Advantage+ catalog ads. Newer Meta guidance also calls them product media. The catalog supplies the image, name, price and product link. QuickAds lets you design how those details appear, preview the results and export the feed.
Check the product behind each ad
Start with your longest product name, a sale item and a product with several variants. Open their images and links. Find cropped names, old prices and mismatched variants before repeating those problems across the range.
Match the variant
Check that colour, size, image and link belong to the same item. A navy shoe ad should open the navy shoe page.
Check the offer
Compare the price and promotional wording with the product page. Include required dates and exclusions, and remove expired offers.
Match product IDs
Check catalog IDs against the product IDs sent by your Meta event sources. Ask whoever maintains the tracking to investigate differences.
Test the layout on your awkward products
Try the template with a tall bottle, a wide bag and your longest title. Give the product enough space, keep the brand treatment consistent, and remove information that competes with the main message.
Check the crop
View the design at a small size. Check the product shape, colour and details, especially around the edges.
Choose one main message
Lead with one product detail, offer or brand cue. Check whether the logo, price and badges leave it enough room.
Check long names
Preview products with long names or unusual images. Adjust text areas and image positions before producing the full set.
Approve in QuickAds. Launch in Meta.
QuickAds produces the creative and catalog export. Add the feed and set up the campaign in Meta. Check product accuracy before exporting, then check the audience, budget, destination and placement previews before launching.
Check the promotional set
Inspect every product in an offer, plus a sample from the rest of the range. Compare them with the approved template.
Review feed changes
Connected URL feeds can show added, changed and removed products in QuickAds. Review the differences and approve what to regenerate.
Change one thing per test
Keep products and audience comparable when testing a design change. Compare purchases, cost and clicks over the same period.
Start with one design change
Example: test whether adding a product detail helps the same products sell. Keep the image, offer and audience comparable.
| Element | Version A | Version B |
|---|---|---|
| Products | Selected product set | The same product set |
| Product image | Approved packshot | The same packshot |
| Design change | Brand frame only | Brand frame with one product detail |
| Offer and audience | Current campaign setup | The same setup |
| Review | Purchases, cost and clicks | The same measures over the same period |
Your three-point check
Tick each item as you review your own catalog.
This checklist stays in this page session. It does not validate or change your feed.

Common questions
Practical questions about meta catalog ads.
Are Meta catalog ads the same as dynamic product ads?
They refer to the same family of catalog-based ads. Dynamic product ads is an older name; Advantage+ catalog ads and product media also appear in Meta guidance. Follow the labels shown in your account.
Does QuickAds launch the campaign for me?
With self-service, create and export the creative in QuickAds, then launch the campaign in Meta. Managed campaign execution is a separate service to discuss with the QuickAds team.
Can I use my logo, colours and fonts?
Yes. Add your brand assets to a QuickAds template and preview it across several products. Include long names and different image shapes to catch layout problems before exporting.
What happens when a product price changes?
A connected URL feed can flag changed products. Check the differences, regenerate affected creative and update the destination feed. A price shown inside an image needs updating too.
Do I need a new page for every Facebook ad format?
No. Choose the formats and placements in Meta, then check each ad preview. A square design can lose text or product detail when cropped for another placement.
